KC-501 high-temperature methanation catalyst is suitable for SNG process, prepared with nickel metal as the active component and inorganic composite oxides as the carrier. KC-501 is featured for its great stability, strong abrasion resistance and high corrosion resistance under conditions of high temperature and high steam partial pressure. Therefore, it is suitable for the processes involving high CO and CO2 concentrations.
The catalyst active component, nickel, exists in the form of oxides in KC-501. Thus, the catalyst needs a reduction process to obtain the catalytic activity by converting nickel oxide to metal nickel. KC-501 catalyst does not contain any harmful substances to equipment or personnel; and the reduction process only produces a small amount of water. The working life of KC-501 is normally more than 2 years depending on the specific working conditions.
